Foi a primeira vez que Mauro Silper fez sua arte na presença do distinto público. A emoção, ele conta, foi sem tamanho quando ele e outros se dispuseram a encarar seu ofício em plena Savassi, enquanto a plateia, curiosa, tentava desvendar os segredos e entender a distância entre a intenção e o gesto de quem se postava à frente das telas em branco.
Este “Urbes e Orbes” em acrílica sobre eucatex foi o que sua cabeça, coração e mãos fizeram naquela manhã. A ideia? Homenagear Le Corbusier, o franco-suíço que tanto fez pela arquitetura, o homem que projetou tantas maravilhas, que virou referência, que se tornou sinônimo de Paris. E aí está a cidade-luz de Silper: sem Torre Eiffel nem Arco do Triunfo. Mas de traços exuberantes e um rio – Sena – onde homens e cidades possam se ver como espelho.

It was the first time that Silper Mauro made his art in the presence of a distinguished audience. The thrill, he says, was no size when he and others were willing to face his work in full “Savassi”, while the curious audience was trying to unravel the secrets and understand the gap between intention and action of whom he stood in front of screens blank.
This "Urbes and Orbes", acrylic on plywood was what his head, heart and hands have made that morning. The idea? Pay homage to Le Corbusier, the French-Swiss who did so much for the architecture, the man who designed many marvels, which has become a reference and synonymous of Paris. And that is the city-light- Silper: No Eiffel Tower or Arc of Triomphe. But traces of a lush river - Seine - where men and cities can be seen as a mirror.
